Healthy Trees For A Healthy Environment!
Award-winning Tree Preservation Since 1976
For a variety of reasons, it may become necessary to take down a tree. The most common reasons are that either the tree has died or that it has structural or health issues that make it too dangerous to leave in place.
If the tree is dying or has died, it’s wise to take it down sooner, rather than later. The longer a large tree has been dead the more dangerous it becomes. Also, if a tree becomes too hazardous for an arborist to climb, other and possibly more expensive, procedures may be necessary. It’s best to have the arborist remove the tree in a controlled situation, instead of having large parts of it come down without warning.
Large trees are usually taken down in smaller sections to avoid damaging nearby trees or property. The arborist removes canopy branching first, then will take down the trunk in manageable portions.
Branches are chipped directly into trucks and can be hauled away or left of site. Tree limb wood chips make excellent mulch that can be spread in a thin layer over the root systems of your remaining trees. Standard cleanup includes cutting the trunk into firewood length and leaving it on site. Or you can have it hauled away.

If the trunk is large enough in length and width, plus is straight and in good condition, it may be feasible to have it milled. If so, your tree can live on. It can be made into a variety of wood products from tables and furniture, to flooring or lumber for construction. Growing Earth can mill your tree using our precision, computer controlled, wood mill.
Additionally, the stump will be cut as low as practical toward ground level or you can have it ground into mulch.
